35 and 36 weeks

Increased pelvic pain the last two weeks. I have felt lots of braxton hicks. Soon I will be taking Evening Primrose oil to hopefully get things going in the right direction. I am getting excited to meet my little boy. Yes I am having a boy!I have been having increased discharge. At times it looks like lotion. I also have been having back aches, headaches and been very very tired. Only 8 more days of work 4 being long weekend days. My bag is packed and I am ready when he is. Randy is about done with the dresser. I hope he is done this weekend. Things are coming together. I cannot wait to be done and hold my baby boy. I just hope he waits til after the 8th. I am predicting 10th or 11th

35 weeks

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

 36 weeks 

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.

At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

33 weeks baby!

Woo Hooo 33 weeks! I am feeling a slight bit more energetic. Especially when the sun is out. The rain has been killing me. All I wanted to do was sleep and eat.I have an appointment next Thursday. This one will be with Crockett. I am excited to get to know her better and allow her to deliver my baby. I was sad that Kathy will not be able to but that is the breaks I guess. As long as someone is there I am good. Corbin is still getting the hiccups often, kicking me strongly and moving around alot. We really have enjoyed feeling him and even seeing his strong movements. He is going to be a strong baby. 7 weeks to go. Wow it's coming fast. 

33 weeks..........
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

31 and 32 weeks

Everything is going great. I am starting to feel more pressure and his hiccups are low in my pelvic area. I get these little sensations that hurt down there. Kathy said it is normal. I figured. I feel good. So I would think things are fine. Kathy is leaving the clinic and now I will have to see the ob Crockett. She is in a cast I hope she can deliver me. It's in eight weeks so I would think so........Oh well someone will. I am not going to stress about it. 

31 weeks which I missed writing about

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

32 weeks.............

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

30 weeks.............

We are coming to the end of this pregnancy. Today I found out I gained a pound of positive weight. I lost 26 pounds in the first three months. I have all the back plus one. Very glad. Corbin is also head down. No wonder I feel those little hiccups so low. I am feeling pretty good. I have aches and pains but that is normal. Especially with the head down position. He is growing well and I look good. 

At 30 weeks you can expect..............

our baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.).

Dear Corbin,

I love you more than you will ever know. I have been waiting for you for so long. I love your sisters very much and this does not mean I love them less than I love you. Like any child you have you love them differently.

I remember the disappointment I felt with I found out I was having my second girl.I got over it fast when I seen your older sister's face on the monitor. I thought then I was destined to have all girls. I was almost ready to accept that. I loved Ava and was just excited about having her as I am you. This time I am excited in a different way. I am excited because I am very surprised that I am having you. I was sure you were going to be another girl. I was ready to embrace that. I was ready to accept that and love you no matter what. But then I seen your boy parts on the screen and I was over joyed! Finally I am having a son. I am finally having the Corbin I always imagined and dreamed about.

Up to this point in my life I have experienced what it is like to have girls. Your sisters and I have this bond that is indescribable. But I had a place in my heart that ached for a boy. Yes I have ached for you. I have hoped for you. I have fantasized about you. A son and mother relationship is different than a daughter and mother relationship. I have seen other people raise their kids. I have always longed for that. I longed for playing trucks and getting dirty with my son. Watching you play sports and having a copy of the husband I love so very much. Finally that is happening and I so overwhelmed. I am not sure what I am to do. How different I am to be. I just know that I have waited a long time for you. I am glad I am finally having you. You are loved! You are loved by many. You have no idea what you are coming into. You will be our only son. Take care of that fact. Take care of you. Because after waiting so long for you, I could not bear to loose you. I love you Corbin. I love you with all my heart. Always know that. Always remember that. No matter where life takes you, the one place where you are accepted and loved is home.

27 weeks

Well I am 27 weeks now. The legs are hurting more and so is my back. Ava thought it would be a great idea to run around the block. Well my lower belly started hurting and I had to come home and lay down. I am not sure if they were braxton hicks or not. I drank some water and I felt so much better. 

27 weeks the baby is .................
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

26 weeks and amemia is kicking my butt!

My sister had her baby this week and maybe I have been wearing myself out I do not know. I do know one thing I am exhausted all the time! I feel like I could sleep 24/7. I told my doctor but she is not concerned. Yesterday I felt weird and dizzy. I also felt weak. I ate a big lunch and tried really hard to get some energy back. I know Randy has to work on the crib. I cannot sleep every night. I still feel weak though. I am working through it. Then last night I had horrible leg cramps. I need to start stretching my legs before going to bed. Ugh pregnancy. I love the movements but I hate the pains and cramps. I even think I have been having Braxton Hicks Contractions. I started drinking even more water. Hopefully that helps. 

How the baby is doing..............

he network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

25 weeks Baby!

I am 25 weeks pregnant!!! Woooo Hoooo! I went to the doctor today and everything looks great!I am measuring right on and his heart is good. Avanelle and I are very happy! We went to McDonald after my appointment. Next time will be the hour glucose test. Going to be fun having Avanelle there for an hour lol. At least I will be highly entertained. I never have any sugar problems so I am sure everything will be fine. It is all down hill from here. Three months til baby!

Week Twenty Five: Exploration continues

You are 25 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 23 weeks) The unborn child is 34 cm in length and weighs almost 690 grams. Baby is around 13.5 inches in length and weighs 1 and half pounds. Bones are becoming solid, hands are now fully developed. The brain is growing rapidly, the brain cells are starting to mature. The sexual organs are fully developed. Baby is now pretty well built portion wise even though it still has little body fat and its skin is thin. The structures of the spine begin to form -- All 33 rings, 150 joints and 1000 ligaments. The tiny brain is growing rapidly, and the baby is starting to fill the space in your uterus. The uterus is now about the size of a soccer ball and mom looks pregnant. Your baby's hands are now fully developed, although some of the nerve connections to the hands have a long way to go. Dexterity is improving. Your baby can make a fist and clasp objects placed in palm. Exploring the structures inside your uterus may have become baby's prime entertainment. Fascinated by the amount of tactile stimulation a fetus gives itself; it touches a hand to the face, one hand to the other hand, clasps its feet, touches its foot to its leg, its hand to its umbilical cord. Twins will explore each other and begin their bonding. See: Twins 3D sonagram movie. Blood vessels of the lungs develop. Your baby's nostrils begin to open. The nerves around the mouth and lip area are showing more sensitivity now. Their swallowing reflexes are developing. Baby can hear sounds outside the womb and the brain cells are starting to mature also. Already it can learn and remember and can recognise its mother and fathers voice. The inner ear bones have hardened so hearing is more acute. Baby may hear your partner's voice more easily than yours, as baby is sensitive to a deeper pitch. Babies born at 25 weeks of pregnancy have about a 50% chance of survival.

New way to do things regarding feedings. Birth plan.

Four months has always seemed like the magic month to start solids. I am thinking that 6-8 months is a much better approach. After reading and researching I think this will give Corbin and I a better breastfeeding relationship. That is my goal to breastfeed as long as possible. There will be no pacifiers, I have even written out a birth plan. It is not anything special but a very short summary of what I want. For instance, I do not want a c section unless the baby's life is in danger or mine, I do not want my baby to be circumcised and no pacifiers or artificial nipples of any kind! I actually learned that circumcision  can hurt the breastfeeding relationships. If the baby's blood sugar is low they can use a baby dropper to administer formula to get it back up. There is no reason for them to give a bottle. I want my baby right away! They can clean him up first but when they are done I want my baby to breastfeed. The sooner that happens the better. Maybe I seem bitchy but I want things done my way! I want encouraged to breastfeed. I feel like the hospital in my town does not do this as much as they should. Giving up has never been an option for me. It never will be either. I am glad I have this plan. Now all I have to do is have it ready for the hospital. I am very ready for baby! Now I just got to finish baking him.

Six months pregnant!!!!!!!

Only three months to go! 111 days til my due date! He is getting big and more ant more active. Yesterday I got some new maternity clothing and I felt so pretty. My husband said I was glowing. I felt pretty yesterday! Who says pregnancy is about being fat and ugly. Not me!

How is baby?

our baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. Over the moon with joy!

Today finally my travel system came in at Walmart! Ugh I was getting extra inpatient! I think next time I will just pay shipping! Anyway, I finally got it and it is so nice! You see I have never had a new stroller or even a travel system so I am feeling very very grateful to be able to afford one. My mattress also came in for my crib. Randy has been in the garage all day cutting pieces for it. I am hoping to make him come in soon. I keep dreaming about my crib I cannot help it. Having something to pass down is really going to be my greatest joy as a mother. I hope I can give it to Tina when she has her first child. Then she can give it to Ava. I would love to have a beautiful piece of furniture in my family for generations to come. The girls got busy today and finished their rocket pictures. I will add pictures later. I am getting very very tired out of no where! Well off to sleep update later.

23 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Corbin is getting big!! I am getting big! Wearing xl in maternity clothing. Not sure what that means but damn I am getting fat! He is moving around everyday so much! I wake up to him moving. I have his take home outfit done. I bought a little brother outfit and I jazzed it up with his name. I am so excited about getting it finished. Now for his bedroom and some little art projects. The girls are going to be painting their rocket pictures. I am going to be finishing their big sister t-shirts and hanging them up. Also hoping to paint and apply some wallies to the wall. Hopefully Randy gets the door frame in and baseboard so I can start. I am excited to get the furniture done and everything in it's place. I plan on

How baby is doing.............

urn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

22 weeks!

I am still so very tired! Someday even when I take my vitamins I could fall over. I think I am anemic like I was with my last two pregnancies. Thought about starting on an iron supplement. Might help with my energy. How am I feeling? Other than tired, super excited to get moving my baby's room and buying his stuff. I cannot wait to get it done. Hows the baby?

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

He is getting big. Tomorrow I see him again and confirm he is a boy! I know in my heart he is but I still will feel better once I am told a second time. I know silly. I am also excited because Randy took a vacation day for it. We can spend some time together. A nap sounds good lol. I will post pictures of my little man tomorrow!

I bought this for my boy. I do not want any confusion at the hospital. He is going to be intact and I do not want idiots retracting him and hurting him. This will also ease my fear a little. I paid for than I usually would pay for a onsie but it is for a good cause. Plus the baby will not go anywhere without me. I promise that.

21 week appointment.

So I had a bad night last night. I did not have my unisom and I threw up. Of course I do this right before my ob appointment so I will have keytones again. This happened at my last appointment too. Well I get there after traveling in the ice and wetness. Everything ended up looking great. I am measuring right on and she wants to do an ultrasound next week. Which is all fine. I would love to confirm he is a boy even though I know he is one. I was told they were 100% sure. I do not anticipate any surprises lol I will update this when I have any new information.

21 weeks and my biggest fear!!!!!! Very scared of this happening.

I am now 21 weeks. The baby is the size of a banana. About a pound now and putting on fat the next couple weeks. I am feeling quite big and I am peeing alot. I am still in love with potatoes and yesterday it was hamburgers. I stuffed myself so full that I had to skip dinner because I was too full. I am been extra hungry and extra tired. 


Anyway to my fear. I am so scared that the dumb people at my local hospital will circumcise my baby anyway. I feel like I am going to have to watch him like a hawk to make sure they do not do it. I discovered recently that the Leche League does not recommend circumcise due to it ruing the breastfeeding relationship. American Pediatrics is no longer endorsing it. There really is no point to it. It is a cosmetic procedure and I cannot wait til Americans wake up and stop doing it!! I might put this in his crib

Yeah I am different. I breastfeed, I leave my son in tact, and I do not believe in God. Yep I am about as minority as they come. I do not care. Judge me all you want! I love being me!

20 weeks

I got so busy the last week and I did not get to talk about my wonderful 20th week. I am feeling Corbin more and more. I am thinking next week he will kick harder so Daddy might be able to feel it. I have been having the lovely frequent urination and I love Dairy! Milk shakes and potatoes are my things! I am so excited to get started on the room in the next couple of weeks We are getting super excited for our new addition.

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)

He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

Dear Corbin,

I love you. I loved you the moment I found out you were inside of me growing. I have so many hopes and dreams for you. On a side note, could you stop kicking me really hard when I sit up? Mommy would appreciate that. Your sisters are so excited and your father cannot stop touching my growing belly. We cannot wait for you to be here. You are probably the most wanted baby ever to be conceived. I hope you bear with us because I have no idea how to raise a son. Up to this point I have only had girls. Hopefully things just fall into place. I cannot wait to see who you look like more. I hope you look like daddy. I hope you have his smile and scene of humor. We have a whole life together and I cannot wait for it to start

18 weeks and yeah I am still tired all the time.

Being tired never ends. I am trying so hard to eat right and take my vitamins. Resting helps but it is very short lived. Then I am back to feeling like I could fall over with exhaustion. Working is a challenge but I know it is very necessary! I just have to keep doing what I am doing hopefully soon the tiredness ends.

As for my baby, well he is about the size of a sweet potato. Mmmmm. Makes me hungry. Might have to making something sweet potato this week.  Well I will update when I am 19 weeks.

17 weeks doctors appointment.

Everything went well. I am now off high risk status! i will see the doctor every month like normal til it goes to every other week. The heartbeat was fine and I am doing great. Still on zofran and unisom for nausea probably be on that til I am 20 weeks at least who knows maybe longer. But atleast I have it under control. No mention of another ultrasound and to tell you the truth I would rather not because I know everything is ok and it cost money. My insurance is not 100%. We will see.

The urination starts back up! 16 weeks 5 days

Back and forth to the bathroom. I should seriously just stay in there til the baby is born. That way I will not have to get up every two minutes and go. I forgot how fun being pregnant is. I guess I should embrace it this is my last baby. So frequent urination I heart you!
